HOW DO I BOOK A COURSE AND WHAT DO I NEED TO PAY?

HOW DO I KNOW IF A COURSE IS SUITABLE FOR ME?

Our main courses cater for Flute, Clarinet and Saxophone players of all ages from grade 4 standard up to professional level. If you have specific questions or concerns, please call us to discuss.


WHAT DOES THE COURSE FEE INCLUDE?

Main Course (Residential) - Includes tuition fees, accommodation and all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Accommodation is in a boarding school, with shared rooms (unless you request a single room) and shared facilities. There are plenty of B&B’s and hotels nearby if you would prefer.

Main Course (Non-Residential) - Includes tuition fees and meals (lunch and dinner)

CAN I COME FOR JUST ONE OR TWO DAYS?

The course is set up to run for the five days culminating in a concert at the end of the week showcasing what you have learnt. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements and we will let you know whether it would be possible for the course you wish to take part in.

IF I NEED TO MISS PART OF THE COURSE, DO I STILL NEED TO PAY THE FULL COURSE FEES?

Please contact us with your specific circumstances.

WHEN IS MY BALANCE DUE?

Balance payments are due by 1 July of the year the course is in.

CAN I CHOOSE MY TUTOR FOR MY INDIVIDUAL LESSONS?

We try to accommodate requests, but it is not always possible to guarantee lessons with a particular tutor. Please add a request in the message box when you make your booking.


WHAT DO I DO IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY PLACE ON A COURSE?

I AM TRAVELLING FROM A DISTANCE, CAN I STAY OVERNIGHT BEFORE OR AT THE END OF THE COURSE?

There is an option to stay overnight (at extra cost) on the last night of the course for over 18s, please tick the box when making your booking. Please note this is for accommodation only and does not include breakfast the following morning.
There are no options to stay over the night before the course begins but there are many B&Bs and hotels in Harrogate.

I HAVE SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS / I AM A VEGETARIAN/VEGAN. CAN YOU CATER FOR ME?

The venue can cater for a variety of special diets and medically diagnosed dietary requirements but must be told about these in advance. Please specify your requirements when you book.

Registration / arrival

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

All delegates (Residential and non-residential)
Registration, on the first day, is from 1.30 - 2 pm. Please note there will be no access to the facilities before this.

Non-residential delegates (other days) - You will be expected to arrive in time for the first session each day which generally begins at 9am. Please see the sample timetables for an idea of what time each day will end.

DO I NEED TO PREPARE ANYTHING IN ADVANCE?

If you would like to perform in one of the masterclasses, prepare a suitable piece of music or movement. Please bring an original copy of this with you to the course, including the piano accompaniment. The music for all the other sessions will be supplied and given out at the event so will be new to everyone.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?

As well as usual luggage for a week away, please can everyone bring:

  • Towel (Bedding is provided, but not towels)

  • A music stand (clearly labelled with your name)

  • Concert dress for the Final Night Concert (course dependent; this will be available in the Delegate Area when you have booked on the course)

HOW DO I GET TO HARROGATE LADIES COLLEGE?

You can easily get to Harrogate Ladies College either by car or train. The postcode for Sat Nav is HG1 2QG.
Harrogate train station is about 1 mile away, which is a 5 minute taxi ride or 15 minute walk and there is a taxi rank outside the station.

IS PARKING AVAILABLE?

Harrogate Ladies College has ample car parking available for all course delegates as required.

ACCOMMODATION

The accommodation at the college is based upon shared rooms for under 18s, and either shared or single rooms for over 18s. Please note that none of the college accommodation is en suite. Single rooms must be requested at the time of booking and are allocated on a first come first served basis. There are plenty of B&B’s and hotels nearby if you would prefer.

IS THERE DISABLED ACCESS?

Yes there is. Please get in touch to discuss your specific requirements.


ARE THERE WiFi FACILITIES?

WiFi is available, but with limited access.
